Welcome
to the new pages for
Storrington. Our aim
is to provide more information
with easy to follow
links and we hope you
will find the information
here useful. Please
contact us if you feel
that there is something
missing and we will
do our best to include
it as quickly as possible.
The
new links at the site
of this page will take
you on a voyage of discovery.
Some of the places will
be familiar, others
like Sullington Warren
are treasures which
many well have passed
without a second glance.
We hope these pages
will enable you to enjoy
the town of Storrington,
whether you are a resident,
newcomer or visitor.
In
recent years, despite
the large number of
out of town superstores,
Storrington has developed
into a thriving town
serving the local villages
and surrounding areas.
The town has it's own
sports centre in Spierbridge
Road, a Gliding Club
on the Pulborough Road
and there are several
good golf clubs in the
area.
The
South Downs provide
some stunning views
of the Sussex Countryside
giving Storrington residents
never more than a few
minutes walk to the
peace and quiet offered
by the countryside.
For those who enjoy
the tranquillity that
the sound of rippling
water brings and the
beauty of the sparkling
reflections, there are
two Village Ponds in
Storrington; the old
Mill Pond in it's centre
and the Village Pond
alongside the busy road
leading to Pulborough.
Storrington
is within the commuting
area for London, being
serviced by railway
stations at Pulborough
and Horsham. Gatwick
Airport is not more
than half an hour away
by car. The south's
major cities, such as
Portsmouth, Brighton
and Southampton are
also within easy reach
by car, using the improved
road access provided
by the A27. Whilst Storrington
has excellent shopping
facilites offering virtually
everything you could
wish to buy, with the
A24 just minutes away,
there is a very easy
route direct to both
Horsham and Worthing.
Unlike
many of the villages
and towns in the immediate
area, much has changed
in Storrington, new
housing estates have
seen a dramatic increase
in population, yet look
closer and you will
see traces of the past.
